Simulation Testing
Approximately 90% of design, coding, testing and integration is done within a simulation (virtual reality for the robots). The two critically important benefits of this simulation environment are:
- The ability to test the robots in a large number of different environments with a wide range of operating conditions generated automatically from input files identifying room parameters and VRML (CAD) representations of objects to be included; and
- When a failure occurs, it can be repeated and new code can be tested to see if it successfully eliminates the failure.
Without the simulation, the development would take several times as long and cost significantly more.
