The Company
Vision Robotics Corporation (VRC) has developed a proprietary and patented technology to produce robotics solutions employing vision-based mapping, localization, and navigation systems. By integrating well-known algorithms with the most recent developments from leading university research laboratories, VRC has created a uniquely robust and cost effective approach to robotics. Founded in 1999, when the convergence of factors-specifically, lower cost components, the need for efficient labor solutions across multiple industries, and significant advances in robotics technology-indicated that robotics was ready to move out of the lab and into the marketplace. VRC develops autonomous robotics solutions based on their "SLAM" system. Vision Robotics is currently involved in partnerships with manufacturers of consumer products, enterprise clients and industrial design companies. VRC is currently working on projects with clients involved in household cleaning, agriculture, homeland security, risk management, hazardous materials, security, home health care, agriculture, industrial design and military applications. |

October 2005: VRC receives grant from the California Citrus Research Board for the third phase of the robot harvester project. September 2005: Derek Morikawa named CEO. August 2005: US Patent Office issues Autonomous Vacuum Cleaner patent. October 2004: VRC patent application for Robotic Canister Vacuum allowed. April 2004: VRC demonstrates its vacuum cleaner intelligently cleaning in a variety of household and office environments. January 2004: VRC begins feasibility study and simulation of robot fruit harvester for the California Citrus Research Board. |
